Terms and Conditions

Covid 19

I am now able to offer my tours subject to government guidelines. Tours are currently restricted to one family or social bubble only. The tours are outdoor tours and social distancing between guide and group will be maintained. We advise that you bring your own hand sanitiser and water bottle to avoid cross-contamination. As we will outside and maintaining social distancing face masks are not mandatory.

Booking

Completion of our online booking form or an email with your chosen tour details will provisionally hold that tour and date for you.

Battle Abbey and Pevensey Castle are English Heritage sites. Both sites are open from April 2021, but in order to maintain social distancing requirements it is necessary to book timed slot tickets in advance. For that reason your booking cannot be confirmed until we receive your deposit.

Once we have received your booking request we will email you an invoice for 25% of the total tour price. This should be paid as soon as possible so that we can book our visit with English Heritage.  If we do not receive your deposit payment within 7 days we will issue a reminder invoice. If that invoice remains unpaid after a further 7 days your booking will be cancelled.

Please be aware that it may be necessary to change the order of the published itinerary to fit with our timed slot visit to the English Heritage site of your tour.

A balancing invoice will be emailed 2 weeks before your tour date. Payment should be made prior to the tour start date or in cash at the beginning of the tour.

2 weeks before your chosen tour date we will email you with full details of our meeting point and your chosen itinerary. Where appropriate we will offer advice regarding clothing, footwear etc.

Changes

As detailed above, it is necessary to book a timed visit with the English Heritage site of your tour. English Heritage states that these bookings are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or amended.

If you need to add people to your tour this will only be possible if English Heritage have additional availability for our timed visit.
If you wish to remove people we will amend the total price if it falls in a different price band but will be unable to refund any monies paid to English Heritage.

If you wish to change date we are able to do this subject to availability at the English Heritage site of your tour, but would require an additional payment to cover the cost of re-booking entry to that site.

Cancellation

By the Client – If you need to cancel your tour for any reason the 25% deposit will be forfeited.

By your tour guide – although very rare, a tour may have to be cancelled if your tour guide is ill or incapacitated. In this unlikely event all money paid will be refunded.

By government restrictions/English Heritage – all money will be refunded.
